With the Season quickly approaching we are extending our Retail Center Store hours. We are now open Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 5:30 pm and Saturdays & Sundays 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. After Hours appointments can be scheduled as well.

Here’s a photo of our newest display water feature at the Retail Center.  We have begun the process of putting aquatic plants in all our features and are really going to have a “Lush Show Place” come summer!

Come Check Out the “All New” Denver Home Show this weekend at the National Western Complex in Denver. The Show is open Friday from Noon – 9:00 pm Saturday 10:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Here is a before and after shot of the display water features we build. These features were built on top of MULCH! – Amazing if I do say so myself!

Spring has sprung at the Colorado Garden & Home Show at the Convention Center in Downtown Denver.  We have a large Feature Garden with the theme of “The Wonderfull World of Water Falls!” – Here’s a couple of photos of the Garden…  The show is open every day, now through Sunday, Feb. 15th.

Fall Leaves in Water Feature

Fall is a good time to do a few maintenance steps to your water feature in preparation for the upcoming winter months. 

One major benefit to a “pondless” or “disappearing” water feature such as this one in our front yard, is that Fall cleanup and winter prep is extremely simple.  Just remove the leaves that have accumilated at the base of the falls and any leaves (or pine needles) in the falls.   It’s not as imperative to get all the leaves out of a pondless water feature as it is in a pond situation because a pond has a ecosystem that needs to remain balanced and falling leaves and debris release toxins as they decay.

If you have pond plants, now is a good time to cut off all of the green foliage and if they are in pots, sink them to the deepest part of your pond.  It is best to trim these plants in the fall for the same reason as trying to get the decaying leaves off the bottom before winter.  Aquatic Plants, when growing are important natural pond filtration.  When these plants begin to die for the season, their foliage if allowed to remain in the pond, will also release toxins that create algea blooms in the spring and possible water quality that may jepordize fish health as well.
